After the gothic horror-thriller Crimson Peak hit theaters last year, director Guillermo del Toro's next project was originally believed to be Pacific Rim 2. The filmmaker was set to start production in Toronto last fall, but reports surfaced in September that the sequel start date was being pushed to sometime in 2016. Shortly thereafter, rumors sprung up that Legendary and Universal Pictures were cancelling the project altogether. The director later clarified that the planned release date of August 4, 2017 had been scrapped, although the project was still happening. Today we have a new report from The Hollywood Reporter that claims the sequel has now been delayed indefinitely.
